boutros-ghali foundation calls for exerting all possible efforts to sustain the truce between israel and hamas
Cairo, November 29 (MENA)- The Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge called on major and influential countries to exert all possible efforts to sustain the truce between Israel and Hamas, and to prevent the return of the war that destroyed the Gaza Strip and claimed the lives of more than 15,000 civilians, in addition to continuing work to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza and provide relief to the afflicted.
The foundation stressed, in a statement issued today, Wednesday, on the occasion of the "International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People", that the ceasefire will provide an opportunity for political and diplomatic efforts to reach solutions that will revive the peace process and raise the voice of truth and justice over the voice of shells.
The statement mentioned that the "International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People" comes this year in conjunction with the bloody and inhumane war that Israel has been waging in the Gaza Strip since the events of October 7, which requires helping the Palestinian people to get rid of the occupation and obtain their legitimate rights to establish their independent state.
The statement added that after decades of Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which included massacres, ethnic cleansing, displacement, land seizure, settlement expansion, and arrests against Palestinians of all ages and classes, in addition to attempts to Judaize Jerusalem and repeated raids on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, after all these tragedies, it is time to support the Palestinian people and affirm their right to live in peace and dignity on their historical land. The Foundation praised the support of the peoples of the free world who took to the streets and squares in major capitals to support the Palestinians and declare their rejection of the massacres and war crimes committed by Israel in its war on the Gaza Strip, targeting children, women, the elderly, ambulance crews, the press, and civil defense, in addition to destroying homes, hospitals, schools, places of worship, and shelters, in addition to imposing a deadly siege that deprived citizens of water, electricity, medicine, fuel, and food. The Foundation affirmed its support for all international efforts that would push towards recognition of the independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, stressing the rejection of all plans to liquidate the Palestinian cause through genocide, displacement and attempts to separate the Strip.
