celebrating africa day in 2022
Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge affirmed that Egypt is keen to make a qualitative shift in relations with African countries and is working to join forces with all regional and international efforts to support the security and stability of the continent.
In a statement on Wednesday, on the occasion of the observance of Africa Day on 25 May each year, the Foundation added that the Egyptian political leadership has attached unprecedented importance to African countries and seeks to realize the continent's desired sustainable development plans and help African brethren in all fields, particularly with regard to countering terrorism.
The Foundation mentioned several events organized by Egypt for the continent: the Aswan Forum for Peace and Development, the Africa Investment Forum, the African Anti-Corruption Forum, and the Arab and African Youth Forum.
It acknowledged Egypt's leading doctrine on the continent, establishing the principle of "African solutions to African problems" as the only way to deal with domestic challenges and prevent foreign interventions on our continent.
A spokesperson from the Foundation reports: "On this day, we always wish to remember and pay tribute to our founding fathers of the Organization of African Unity, which today became the African Union. They believed in the need for Africans to unite their insight, ambition, and dedication in laying the foundations for cooperation and economic integration."
The Foundation concluded by recalling the great importance given to the continent by the late Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali. He had always stressed that the strength and resilience of African peoples enabled them to overcome any difficulties and that cooperation and sharing of knowledge and resources would offer many alternatives for the future.
