As part of the launch of the activities of the Dr. Abdel Malik Oudah Research Chair at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, the Center for Political Research and Cultural Dialogue — under which the chair’s activities are conducted — organized a panel discussion on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, titled “Ten Years Since the Adoption of the African Union Agenda 2063: Successes and Failures.”
The panel featured:
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ashour Mehdi, Professor of Political Science and International Law at the Faculty of African Graduate Studies, Cairo University
Ambassador Nader Fath Al-Aleem Sir Al-Khatem, Head of the Permanent Delegation of the African Union to the League of Arab States
Also in attendance were:
Ambassador Laila Bahaa El-Din, Executive Director of the Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge
Prof. Dr. Aladdin Hilal, Professor in the Department of Political Science at the faculty and supervisor of the research chair
The event saw active participation from the faculty’s students, especially international students from various African countries, along with a number of African academics and journalists.
The discussion was opened by Prof. Dr. Hanan Mohamed Ali, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, and was moderated by Dr. Hala Ahmed El-Rasheedy, Director of the Center for Political Research and Cultural Dialogue.
