on the anniversary of his birthday, the kemet foundation appeals to the world to revive boutros-ghali’s principles of peace and put an end to the bloodshed in palestine.
The Kemet Boutros Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge launched an urgent humanitarian appeal, today, Tuesday, on the occasion of the anniversary of the birthday of the “icon of Egypt, Africa and the Arabs,” the late Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali, and appealed to all peoples and governments who value justice and peace, to unite in order to end the brutal war against the people of the Gaza Strip, and put an end to the bleeding of Palestinian blood.
The Foundation said in a statement: “Today, November 14th, we celebrate the anniversary of the birthday of the knight of human rights and the owner of the peace agenda, who dedicated his life and efforts to upholding the values of peace and applying preventive diplomacy to protect and save innocent civilians in times of conflicts and wars. As we urge the free people of the world with living consciences to revive the principles of Boutros Ghali for peace, and to work to support the occupied and besieged people of Palestine, who are being exterminated by bombings, starvation and thirst, and are displaced without a shelter or even a hospital in which to be treated, and to support them for liberation and the establishment of their independent state on the soil of their homeland that has been usurped by Israel for more than seven decades."
The Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees confirmed.
Mamdouh Abbas, said that the world today is in urgent need, more than ever before, of justice and peace, in light of an inhumane war of revenge that targeted innocent civilians, including women and children, doctors, journalists, and United Nations humanitarian staff. Housing, hospitals, places of worship, and civilian infrastructure have all been targeted and destroyed, which resulted in the displacement of the population of the Gaza Strip. They then besieged it, depriving them of water, electricity and fuel services.
The President of the Foundation urged the peoples of the world to show courage and fairness to Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali values, whose term as Secretary-General of the United Nations was opposed by the United States of America because of his continuous defense of the Palestinian cause, right and peace, as well as his role and attempts to change and reform the United Nations, which was dissatisfying the major powers.
Mamdouh Abbas mentioned that Dr. Boutros Ghali, who worked as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Secretary-General of the Francophonie Organization, spent his life demanding the spread of peace in all parts of the earth, especially in occupied Palestine, and worked through his position at the head of the United Nations institution to defend international legitimacy and respect international humanitarian law.
The Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge called on the international community to prosecute the terrorist Zionist entity, especially since the genocidal massacres and war crimes it committed against civilians were documented and witnessed by the entire world.
At the conclusion of its statement, the Foundation called on the free people of the world and international institutions to take urgent action to cease the fire and break the “inhuman” siege on the people of the Gaza Strip, noting that there is still an opportunity to save the situation before it is too late and the circle of violence expands and threatens international peace and security.
